We are recording gang vocals for a song called Friend on the new Here Boy record, and are looking for people who want to sing.  It would involve around an hour of your time, Saturday July 18.  No real singing skills needed, all ages welcome.  If you are interested, email me through the website contact form and I will get back to you with details.  Space is limited, so let me know soon!  In fact there's already been such a huge response from the Facebook site, I'm considering changing locations so we can fit a few more people!

Finally today, the new website address is up and running.  The new site is www.hereboymusic.com, but you will find it's pretty much the exact same site as this one.  www.darylwilson.com will probably remain functional for the rest of the year as well and I will decide later on whether to do something else with that site or not.

So, if you are reading this, you've probably noticed that the band name has changed.  No longer am I Daryl Wilson, I am now Here Boy!  Well... technically, my birth cerificate is still the same, but because this project has a whole new vibe since Still Hallelujah, I thought it would be better to change my artist name and start fresh to avoid confusion.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has stuck with me through this last year, patiently (well, some of you NOT so patiently) waiting for this new album.  I promise you that it is getting very close, as I have been spending tons of time in the studio nailing down the final guitar riffs, vocals, and all the other things that go along with it.  I'm so grateful for all the help that I am getting from my fellow musicians, friends, and of course my dear wife Alicia who still miraculously remains a fan even though she has to live with me!

And all of you who are posting links to my site, and to my video on youtube... I'm honored, and humbled.  Thank you!  Your emails and comments are so encouraging to an artist who lives in a perpetual state of second guess...ed...ness...

Daryl (aka Here Boy!)

Well, my life has taken a very different turn in the last year and so I have had to put off the recording of this album for some time... HOWEVER, my good buddy Dylan Sawatzky -guitarist extraordinaire, flew out from Vancouver Island and spent a week with me in the studio, helping me catch up on this project.  I can tell you that the songs are sounding great and I'm really excited to be back into recording.  We were also joined by the ever so rockin' Paula Spurr who is dropping a song on this album, as well as Lewis Frere (of the acclaimed Lewis & Royal).  Also Lounge MD of Paramedic is back, lending some of his chill funk vibes on the wurlitzer and rhodes as well as his FunkSoul Productions expertise.  And we're not done yet!  I can't wait to pop some new tunes up on this site for you to check out.

In other news, I'm dropping the name Daryl Wilson (well, as least as a band name... I'll still keep it so my friends know what to call me) and will be announcing the new band name in a short while.  I'm doing this because this project is really becoming less and less about me, and because... lets face it, my name is just not really... band cool :)  I will keep you updated via email as the website will be changing in light of the new band persona.

It's done!  The first song is just in time for Summer!  Which is good, because the song is called "Summertime" and you'll be humming it right through till winter.  I promise there will be lots more songs coming soon so please stop in to check back here to catch sneak peeks of the new tracks!
